So we recently just moved all of Cally's toys upstairs to her bedroom and reclaimed our downstairs. We thought that she was old enough now to go up to her room and play without any worries. She does go up there- she is one of those children that likes to play by herself sometimes.
Today I was laying on the couch, asking myself why I ate that one slice of pizza last night. Apparently my stomach was just not ready for "real food" yet after spending 2 days ago with the stomach flu. Cally wondered upstairs to her room, while Matt was in the floor spending some father son bonding time with Broc.
She never stays too long up there. So after awhile of playing she wonders downstairs. She starts singing " are you gonna kiss me or not". I really don't know where she got this from, I am assuming that while she was up there, she turned on her tv to the music station and this song must have been on.
Matt looks at me and says "do you hear what she is singing" and we both had a good laugh.
This song seemed to stick in her head most of the day and it turned into a good joke at our house- but after both our my angels are in bed- it hit me- how precious life is and how much I have to kiss both of them as much as I can. This seems to be very fitting for the next 2 weeks of my life- my Christmas break at home with my children!! So instead of going to work, like I had planned on doing tomorrow for awhile- instead I think I am going to stay home and listen to my angel sing to me, while my other angel takes it all in and laughs at us!

relive a dream
So I have one more week left before I get to relive my dream again of a stay at home mommy! - well for 2 weeks anyway! Except I have so much to get done, not only at home, but at work too! I love teaching, it was for sure my calling, but I wish sometimes that I could just teach and not worry about everything else. I teach first grade ( for those of you who don't know) and I don't think I could do another grade. Maybe kindergarten, but nothing else. I like the independence of a 6 or 7 year old or should I say not to much independence-lol It is nice to not go one day without a hug or a smile, or a piece of paper with a child's best art work that reads- best teacher ever- and I love Mrs. Gibson.
but sometimes I feel like my own children suffer because of my job- especially my bad days when my patience is just well gone! Or because my babysitter spends more time with my kids than I do during the school year and that breaks my heart! I don't know what I would do without her- but I want to be able to share those moments with my kiddos that I miss and instead I share them with other people's children- who I am sure feel the same way as me.
